This has happened to me twice now, while I was pregnant with each of the girls, so it’s only natural that it’s happening again. I get to a certain point in my pregnancy when all I can think about is buying things for our new arrival.
Clothes are, of course, a primary concern. Now, how many outfits I think a newborn needs is a bit out of whack with how many clothes a newborn actually does need. But that’s beside the point, I think.
So today, we loaded the girls in the car, and set out to Babies R Us. We registered for the few things we need for this baby–mostly items that simply didn’t stand up to the wear and tear of the first two kids. A new stroller/carseat combo and pack ‘n play were some of the first on the list, and then we supplemented with a few crib sheets, pacifiers, and breastfeeding supplies.
All in all, it was an eventful trip.
And then, everyone got to purchase an outfit for the baby–the girls got to pick their own, and Mommy and Daddy each got to select one, too.
Yes, I know there are four of us and there are five outfits there. Let’s just pretend Jessica (!) liked that one for herself, okay?
Resistance is futile…I love buying for babies.
For those of you who are interested, we opted to register at Babies ‘R Us for about 20 items that we need. Then, we registered online at Wildflower Diapers for the cloth diapering supplies we would like (we plan to cloth diaper again, probably starting after the first month or two–once we, hopefully, get into a decent routine around the house).
I realize it’s a bit of a no-no to register for a second, third, or subsequent child. Ah well…there are things we need. And most companies offer a discount off of remaining baby registry items when your due date approaches, so that alone makes it worth it, in our books!
Is it January yet?
